About Parish
Christ the King Church (Christuraja Church) in Vilakkannur is a significant pilgrim centre under the Archeparchy of Thalassery in Kerala. It is renowned globally as the site of the Vilakkannur Eucharistic Miracle, a divine event officially recognized by the Vatican.

The miraculous event occurred on November 15, 2013, during the celebration of the Holy Qurbana. The parish priest, Fr. Thomas Pathikkal, noticed a reddish spot appearing on the consecrated Host. As the community prayed, the spot evolved to form the distinct face of Jesus Christ. The phenomenon was witnessed by thousands of believers and was subsequently preserved for theological and scientific study.

Following years of rigorous investigation by the Syro-Malabar Church and scientific testing at Christ University and laboratories in Rome, it was confirmed that the image was not created by any external substance. On May 31, 2025, the Vatican officially declared the event a Eucharistic Miracle, validating it as a supernatural sign of the Real Presence of Christ.

Today, the church attracts pilgrims from all over the world who come to venerate the miraculous Host and seek spiritual renewal. The parish is located in the serene hill ranges of Kannur district, near Paithalmala, making it a place of both divine mystery and natural beauty
